Hot Spring and Nuclear Power: A Critical Examination of Stealthy Nuclear Power Plant Visitor Centers in Japan during the Post-Fukushima Era

This presentation examines how nuclear power visitor centers promote the ideology of nuclear power in a depopulated area through a physical level with pleasure, rather than information. Instead of functioning as visitor centers for exhibition, they are rather recognized as leisure facilities like hot springs spas, having nothing to do with nuclear power plants, yet they are “stealth” facilitates to transform the sense of community to embrace nuclear power.
